My World

The world is a big place, and my world is a pretty good size place too.
My world is mostly limited to the northern half of Georgia.

I am lucky that my hobbies have a lot of room. Bicycling is allowed and
has a lot of biking trails all of the place in Atlanta and north Georgia.
I have an old car and it can be driven anywhere in my world.
Geocaching is very wide spread in north Georgia.

So I am very lucky to be in my small world. Others are not as lucky.
If you are a fisherman, well you are limited to places that has water.
Then you are limited to water that fishing is allowed in, and there may
be seasons.

If you have firearms and you are a shooter, you are very very limited to
where you can shoot. I know, I use to be a shooter.

If you are a hunter, same thing.

If you are a skier, you are limited to a place that has snow and a slope.

If you ice skate, you have to have some ice, and a place that allows that.

Even if you are a swimmer, there is limits to where you can swim.

It gets more limited for some other big hobbies. Say you are a race car driver.
You have to find a place that your class of cars are allowed, and then meet
all the rules a time tables. I know about this one too.

ATVs, Radio Air planes, Golf, running, Hang gliding, sky diving, rock climbing.

So why are the Geocachers bitching about the National Parks and some other
places putting rules in place for Geocaching. There is more space than most
other hobbies. Hey its a big world and there is plenty of room left for Geocaching.

Angela

A stay in the hospital is always stress out the yang yang. But!
After a 4 hour tour in the ER, I was put in a room for an overnight
stay in the hospital. I was given an Angel named Angela to be my
nurse. She was about 35 years old and full of life and fun.
She had me laughing in the first 5 minutes. After asking if I had
any allergies, which I answered no, she put an arm band on me
that was yellow and said NO ALLERGIES. She said this is
put here so we can feed you all the shrimp you can eat. I laffed
my butt off. We got along great for the rest of my stay.
She made the stay fun, like I was her only patient.

The last day I was standing in the doorway of my room. As the left
the room, she was pulling off the thin rubber groves and popped me on
the butt and she went by. You could hear us laughing all the way down
the hall.

When I was discharged, she was the one to get the wheelchair and
rolled me out to the car. She give me and big old hug, and said please
don't come back here. But added we will have cocktails somewhere else.

Thanks Angela

Dear Blog

The weekend was alright. Saturday I messed around most of the day.
Then late afternoon went to the cruise in CArtersville. It rained it out.
Sunday I carry the wife to a baby shower, and I came back a worked in the
basement, til time to pick her up. Just another day at the office.
Monday I got up and checked my email, eat some oats, then set back
down at the puter, then ohhh, shoooot. I had an episode with my heart.
I was about to pass out. After a call to 911 I was in the hospital. I had to
spent Monday, and Monday night. I got out Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.

They said I didn't have a heart attack, but they are not sure what was
going on. I got to go back to see my doctor in two weeks. They do some
test then I'm sure.

But I feel good now.

Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose in to other people's business. Several members did not approve of her extra-curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the towns only bar one afternoon. She emphatically told George (and several others) that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.
George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny ... He said nothing.
Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house ... walked home ... and left it there all night.

You got to love George!

Saturday was a full day. The late night bike ride Friday wasn't over until the wee hours Saturday morning. I got to bed at 3:00 am. I was back up at 7:30 am.
By 10:00 am I was on the way to go caving. We got with-in 12 feet or so of the cache,
but backed out due to being tight and muddy.

Later in the evening, I went to the Cruise Night at the Riverstone Shopping Center in Canton, Ga. A lot of walking to look at the 300 plus cars.
In bed by midnight. Don't know if I will go out today or not.

The Lunar Bike Ride was a lot fun as always. Good friends to ride with and a lot of good food, and plenty of drinks.

The turn out was way off from the pass years. My guess, it was due to the price of gas.
That made it better riding, easy to get around without dodging all the others.
It was smooth sailing for the most part.

Man I'm so out of shape. Being with others makes it a lot better than riding alone.

Yesterday was doctor day AGAIN
Protime was 2.3 GOOD
Lois had an interview with a Gastroenterologist. Her inner side will be on a tv next week.

Today I've been cleaning the yard after the high winds last night.
I going to have supper at Fuddruckers with the old car club, and then go to Rome
for The Lunar Bike Ride at the mall. This is always a fun ride with loads of other
folks.

Tomorrow will be caching with my old friend Yoyo.

BEWARE!!

HOME DEPOT SCAM

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot. You agree and they get In the backseat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen June 4th, 9th,10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th and 29th. Also July 1st, 7th, twice on the 8th, three times last Saturday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

I found this little didy today.
It is a letter to an ex-boss after a resignation.
When I read it, I got to thinking it could also
fit some nonpaying jobs as well. Like the PTA,
clubs, church, and a lot of other places you donate
your time and labor.

The letter:

"Thanks for asking me to stay on, but I respectfully decline.
However, if in the future I ever feel the need to be publicly humiliated,
blindsided, ostracized and called a spy, be distrusted and disciplined
by superiors for no good reason, fight for wages that are rightfully mine,
stabbed in the back by fellow employees, used as a pawn in executive
rivalries, or (especially) chewed out when you're have a bad day,
I'll get back to you!

Me was just thinking, before you fire off a letter like this,
You might just become a boss yourself someday.

Last night before dark we were setting on the porch. I spotted something
of the end of the porch. It was about the size of your thumb and the color
of a dead leave. I ask the woman what is that? She said looks like a leave.
I said it moved a little. She got up for a better look. She said it is a live.
The she got her broom a swept it off the porch. It landed in the yard with
wings spread. The wings where about 4 inch each. It was a young Bat.

It slowly folded it wings back up and was little again. So we watch it as
we set in our rockers. It started hopping about 2 or 3 in. at a time until
it go to the door steps, then using it's wing like hands it climb up the steps.
First time in my life to see that. When it got to the third step it turned
around and faced the edge of the step and just set there for a while.

We were still all eyes, and after about ten minutes it hopped off the step
a flew away. It went into the trees across the street.

I wish I had took pictures but didn't think to.

Nice weekend

a big, long and fun weekend. Only down side was, I got the sad news that Charlie passed
last November. Emily (not spell right) has a new Buddie now so she won't be lonesome.
His name is Bea, or Bow not sure which, short for Beauregard.

I spent Saturday in the mountains with Allen mapping out things and places for
the fall camp-out. A fun filled day w/o any rain. Sunday I was at the Smiley
man retirement party. One of the best events I have attended. Loads of fun
and a lot of wild stories, and good BBQ.

Doctors Orders

The Dr. said to exercise. Today I got up early and hit the trail with the bicycle.
I rode with the wind, NOT. I rode like I was winded. I rode 40 miles.
I did made an average of 10 MPH. but it was not pretty. I am not in the shape I was ten years ago. It is not fun to ride by my self anymore. I was shot before I got back to the car,
and was having to rest every ten minutes. I know if I keep riding I have to get a new
pace and work into it again. Makes me sad. I got to work at getting my exercise program
in order.

Henry update:
The speedometer doen't work. Yet!

I went to a geo-event for breakfast this morning, but I didn't pig out.
Grits and toast.

Then back to the garage. Me and Annie go down the same road a lot, all but the * "weight loss plan 2008" thingy. I do better if I just get on the scales once
a month. I was at 205 on the doctor visit the other day. Doc didn't say anything
about weight, but did say I need more exercise. I think they will go together,
maybe.

When I clean out Albner yesterday I just piled the stuff in the floor.
I have been making little piles out of the big pile today. I still have to find
a place to store it all. So I'm cleaning the garage here too.

johnnie found D.A.W.G. (Traditional Cache) GC15KP4

I got up this morning to head out to Rock Creeks Enigma before the holiday rush. Knowing that I might not find it, I look to see if there where any near-by caches that I might find along the way. This one popped up, and low and behold it was another Bad Dawg cache. So I packed my mountain gear and head out to the mountain. The weather was find, but the climb was hot. When I got up to the water fall near the Rock Creek cache, I notice it was still a long way to this one, so I kelp climbing and resting every little bit trying to get to the top. I had to rest for a long time and suck down a bottle or two of water before I could start the search for this cache. I luck up and found it fairly quick. I was so worn out that I just went back down the mountain without ever looking for any other cache.
Made no trade.
Thanks BD for another great adventure.

**********

found this ONE Thursday, was still sore today, stay home and cleaned out Albner.
I still have some of the stuff in the floor to find a place for it.
ROOSTER Is just going to get a small tool kit. Cell phone will take the place of
the big stuff.

Last Saturday afternoon went to the 4th Saturday Cruise evening in Cartersville put on
by the Car Club. It was good to see the cars that our old friends have now. Some very
nice cars.

Yesterday I went for my 6month check up. My good cholesterol was low, 30 should
be 48 or so. Was told I need more exercise. Ok that I will do.

Last night was the first Tue. and the car club meeting. This is the night they eat
like hogs, and then a short meeting. They are going to be doing some fun stuff
this summer. I will just go to some of the cruise nights.

Today I have to take Dad to the doctor, his feet is swelling.
