I was reading in a book, but it fits some of my thoughts.
Perhaps you know me.
"I am a latte-sippin',digicam-totin', house-escapin', REI-shopin' lover of the outdoors. I can light aa campfire, I can pitch a tent, and in bear country I know better than to sleep with the Oreos next to my head. But Daniel Boone I am not---and the older I get, the more that bothers Me."
Here latey I have been looking back to my days with the scouts, for fire starting out on hiking trips. Things like useing a camera lens for magnifying the sun light, and then there is the teaspoon of sticky substance found on pines and other evergreens to add to kindling so your fire will start right up. I have use steel wool to touch the end of a 9-volt battery for a instant spark which will start a fire.
The one that you should never leave home without.
Matches
Lots of them. Keep three or four stashes of matches in waterproof caontainers in diffewrent parts of the backpack to insure against loss and wetness. Put some in your pocket too. better and lighter too.
Achtung!

My heart doctor called today and said I have a high level of triglycerides.
I have to take a drug called Tricor. Another high dollar pill. I going to have a heart attack if this shit keeps on.
I had a fun day yesterday. I was invited by Bush-Bob and his family to join them for an afternoon of fun at their vacation spot in Helen, Ga. Scrapmam & GaPatci was on vatcation as well. We talk geocaching and our other hobbies. I left at early dark, but wished I could have stayed for the weekend.
The other day I was in Blue Ridge messing around in the hills west of town.
I got to talk with some of the folks that live up there. I always enjoy that because,
I seem to fit in. Here is a list of some of the words that I heard that day, that I don't hear everyday. I knew them all and understood what was being said.
dreckly, clobber, flabbergast, yonder, pertnigh, fraidy hole, (My father-in-law had fraidy hole.), ciyfied, caty wompus.
There was more, but that is all I recall right now.
