I was just reading what Allen commented about the GGA elections.
It brought to mind a meeting I went to back on the first of this month.

I have been going to and was a member for several years of a older car club in
Cartersville, Ga. It has been around for some twenty five years. I haven't been going much since
my old car has been down. I have been in contact with a few of the members
lately as I am working on the car.

I went to the October meeting and forgot that is when they hold their election.
I never did mind going to that meeting because they got their ducks in a row.
The monthly meeting is always at some place to eat. After everyone has eaten,
they have the meeting which will last twenty minutes or so.
The election took about five of those minutes.
The month before, August, they ask for and got a volunteer to be the nomination committee.

This person ask if anyone that is there wants to run, and then ask the current officers if they will run again.
At the beginning of the election meeting they will pass out a sheet of paper with the names of
of the people running for each office with one blank space so you can write in anybody you wish, including
yourself. After recognizing the birthdays, and the opening welcome, they all pass the sheets to the front.
The officers wife's count the votes, and at the end of the short meeting they tell who will be in office for the next year.

They get a big hand and then adjourn for chatting with each other about the old cars, etc.

Greg was trying to make use of his psychology courses. He
started his event by saying, "Everyone who thinks they're stupid, stand up!"
After a few seconds, Johnnie stood up. The speaker said,
"Do you think you're stupid, Johnnie?"
"No, sir, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself!"

Fall colors near where Grady lives in NC

I will not be on my confuser as much in the next few weeks. I will check my email twice a day. The GGA has started their election process and I don't want to even watch it unfold. It is too depressing for me to read about it so I will just set it out.

I may go up to Ellijay and spend the night soon, that always give me a lift.

In the sky at the challenge.

While the hunters where busy hunting the caches, Over head in the the sky above was quite a show. A few of us non-hunters where taking a break from the action and mtn-man ask what is that while pointing stright up. I looked up and there it was high in the sky, a falcon, which is a small, swift hawk. This was the first time, since I was a kid, to see one in the wild. It was a thing of beauty. That got me to looking to the sky the rest of the day. Lots of crows and a few vultures. I love the outdoors.

The sway bar is install under the rear of the car now yaaa. This morning I am a little stiff and my neck is a little sore from laying under the car while putting it all together. But it is worth it for the sweet handling that will come later.

I went camping today. Sorta! I had took down camp Sunday morning wet. I just roll everything up and put it in the truck. Today I set it all back up in the front yard. The kids across the street love it. I eat lunch and supper out of the food box. When the sun dried it all I swep it up and wiped it down, and pack it up for the next campout. Good camping. While I was camping in the yard the ups truck came. Parts for Henry. I just came out of the basement at 11 pm. My brother came by at 7:00 pm and watch me open boxes and show off the car. All in all another great day at the office.

Tequila and Salt

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day.

You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take another look.
11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over!
Good friends are like stars........
You don't always see them,
But you know they are always there.
