Bear footed and shorts.
I went by to see slay and the puppies today. All three pups were so glad to see me.
We looked the new cars over, and I must say that slay's is the best looking by far.
I am still watching the gas mileage, just till the new wears off. I got 35 mpg on the trip to slays and back. I can't wait to see what Henry will do on his first trip over there.

you can't catch fish in a corn field, or snow board on a interstate hi-way in Fl.
But you can be happy

Yesterday after lunch we got in Rooster (the new car) and drove to the farm in Tenn.
It was getting warm, so I run the AC on the way back. Didn't want the watermelons
and wine to get too hot. Rooster got 37.5 mpg. Hiway 411 is a good road with few
redlights and 55 mph speed limit. I was trying for 40 but fell short of that but I am very happy with what it did get. It is getting around 26 to 29 in town.

As good as that is, it still cost $20 bucks. It don't seem all that long ago that
a trip like that was just $5.00 dollars.

Loose ends:

To tie up loose ends has a real meaning here now. I was showing
Ricky how cold the ac was in Henry. It is one cold 50 Ford. I notice
the unit wouldn't cool setting still when the engine fan wasn't running.
That fan cycles with the engine heat. So if the engine isn't very warm
the AC won't cool. If you are stuck in traffic the air will not perform well,
due to fan going and off, and the car not moving thru the air.

I decided to add a manual switch to the engine fan. Easy enough to do.
I checked it out and it worked like a charm. It would cycle as before, or
I could turn it on and keep it on as I wish.

Now to check out the AC with the fan on. Oopps The AC won't come on.
Quick check to see if I pulled a wire loose under the dash. Nothing that I
could see. I retired for the day.

The next day I remembered (which is hard for us oldsters) that when I installed
the AC unit, I just stuck the power wire to the fuse so I could just pull it loose
if there were a short. That was over two months ago. I still had to plump all
the hoses. I knocked the wire loose when I pulled the new wire for the fan switch.
I hard wired it in and all is good. Not. Now the car won't start.

More loose ends. Three years ago when I rewired the whole car, I installed a
master fuse inline before anything was online. I just stuck the main wire that goes
the the fuse panel to the master fuse so I could just pulled it loose in case of a short
when testing. I had knocked it loose while hard wiring the AC. I hard wired the
power supply in.

Debugging goes on.

We have been looking for this day a long time.
Henry cam out of the barn for a while this afternoon.
It has been over ten years since he has been out in the fresh air.
I've working on hime for the past three years, and it is now paying off.
There is some loose ends to be tied up yet, but it feels good to have it
running and driving about the yard.

Last night I met with a group of geocachers for ice cream. What a great way to start the summer.

The new car has a name now. "Rooster". Rooster is small and cockie.
The car also looks like a rooster, and sounds like a rooster.
When he takes off, its sounds like he is crowing. Not so much like cock-a-doodle-do
but more like spanish crowing, cucurucucu. I really like my little game rooster.
I got 30 mpg on the first half tank of fuel. That was in town driving.
I will check it more the next time I go to Ellijay, that when I drive like an old lady.
I drive like an old man in town.

Henry update:
I got the heat a air working. You will need a sweater on in July with the air on.
It is cold, as it should be.
I got the drive shaft, and will install it this weekend. Then I will start
driving it up and down our street, to debugg it.

Abner is retired now. He has been put out to pasture. He is still kicking,
but he don't have to work any more.

That about it for geezerville today.

I got a high tech geek question!!

If, big if, I had a Shallow well bored, water table is less than 20 feet deep here,
could I? Install a energy efficient pump with a 200 gal. tank 12 feet high.
Yes, but wait theres more. I would like a generator with a 10 water wheel.
Run the wheel with about half of what the pump could supply. Now the big
question. Could I generate more power than the pump would use?
What size generator you ask. Big enough is run the pump and a few kilowatts
to help with the house.
Would this work? If it can, why is it not being done by others?

No rant, just old fashion Rambling.

I wish I could talk with my fingers like one of my friends.
But what we got here is what it is.
Last week was a busy week, thats for sure, where do I
begin? Don'know! I pulled Abner over to the side. He is
on his last days, on his death bed. Sad, but he was a good
truck.
Death, dead, reminds be of something I read a while back.
I hope all of you, and my friends are very old when I pass, but
if you out live me, I hope you will say a prayer for my family
and love ones, then tip a cold one.
That is what I'm doing for Abner.

Ok What about Henry? Ol Henry, I been haveing a hard time with
the hose fittings. I finely got all of them. I put the last hose together
and filled the radiator and turn the heater on, I know it was in the nineties.
It was doing its thing. Then I charge the ac. Bam, a hose blew.
It was the first one I built, and I had failed to tighten it enough.
I am now waiting on another hose to get here.
Tomorrow I go to the drive shaft shop to get it built, We will be riding
up and down the street soon.

Caching, new goal, to hit 888 by Aug 8, 08. I had to archived Historic
Allatoona Pass. due to the new lake rules.
I attended the GGA meeting. good friends and all that.
I got no new hints! Going to replace one for a friend.
Star Hopping Three on my mind, but I have to tell you my
hiking and biking is way off in the last few years, due to aging
and health issues. I may not make it.

Gas price sux.
Step up the pace on the old ford a little because I don't have a way
to get around. As soon as it is done, I'm going car shopping,
Gas mileage will be on my mind.

Ice cream with AG this week.
Two doctor trips, protime and other half for checkup.

Naked guy looking at me from my mirror.

This is part of what happening, but all I can get to my head right now.

Joke time! you you'uns cover your ears.

Bubba liked to frequent the old swimming hole but was never able to attract the girls.
He decided to ask his friend Billy-Bob for advice.
"It's those big baggy swimming trunks that make you look like an old fool..
They're years outta style. Your best bet is to grab yourself a pair of Speedos, about two sizes too little, and drop a fist-sized tater down inside them. I'm telling ya man...you'll have all the babes you want!"
The following weekend, Bubba hits the swimming hole with his spanking new tight Speedos, and his fist-sized potato.
Everybody at the swimming hole was disgusted as he walked by, covering their faces, turning away, laughing, looking sick!
Bubba went back to his buddy Billy-Bob and asked him, "What's wrong now?"
"Lard-Almighty Bubba!" said Billy-Bob, "the tater goes in the front!"

A late spring cleaning
at the cabin. Porch clean, floors moped, bath room moped and clean.
Refrigerator cleaned, TP and soap restocked. All windows open so the place
could air out. Brought all linen home, it was clean but has been stored all winter.
Going to wash it and dry it on the clothes line in the sun so it will smell fresh.
Ready to spend some time up there.

Saving Gas!

I just seen on TV that a large company in Atlanta is helping their employees with
high cost of gas. What they did was go to a four day week, ten hours a day.
20% of the help is off each day of the five day week. So on Money 80% of the help is on the job for 10 hours, and they will have an off day later that week, and so on.
That should cut their weekly gas bill by about 20 per cent, saving them money.
It sounds like a pretty good deal huh.

The company did a survey, and ask what the employees did on their off day.
You guess it right! They was in the car riding here and there. I had go
shopping, I had to go get my hair done, I had to go to the lawn mower shop.
Burning more gas than if the car was parked at work.

A nord from the wise.
A clean office makes life a little simpler.
Annie prompt me to clean, well maybe not so much cleaning, but throw away
all the clutter, and file the good stuff. I hope I can remember where I filed
it. I like the way things are now, I have some norndum in the way I do things
now.

SEE!

The office has never looked this good before.

I hate it when people forward bogus warnings in emails, and I have even done it myself a couple times unintentionally.... but this one is real, folks, and it's important. So please send this warning to everyone on your email list.

If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking for ticks due to the warm weather and asks you to take your clothes off and dance around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!

THIS IS A SCAM! They only want to see you naked.

I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.

while pumping $40.00 gas in the truck, a lady came up to me and ask if I could spare
a few bucks for her to get some gas for her car. Sorry I just put in my last dollar.

A supper weekend. Saturday after going to the block party and old car cruise in down town Acworth I headed to the mountains. I went to bed early, so I would be all rested up for an early day of caching hunting. Just before day, thunder woke me up. I set up,and the day started before sunrise with a big thunder storm. When I got up just after the big sound of thunder and then the rain came in buckets. The sun didn't come on time because it was so dark due to the storm. Slay pulled in in the middle of the hard rain. When I looked out she was in the back seat, she told me not to ask, I didn't.

We broke waffle together for a nice breakfast. We checked with the weather man
and learned it was going to be stormy all day in the area.
After a nice visit we parted and headed home. I bet next time it will hot all day.
