It was a good Friday. Halloween Day. I worked on the fifty today. I did get it on the road by the set date of Sept 30th. It then need to be drove and find the little bugs. Which would be the start of debuging. Oct. turned out to be a month of going to the doctors almost every day, with me, the wife and dad. So the old car had to set and wait.
Today I got a lot of the bugs works out. The big bug was the shifting of gears in the transmission. I now like the the shift pattern. It is working like it should now. I found what was needed on the old car club forums. I also moved the transmission cooler to a better place for better cooling. Next was the speed o meter. It wasn't working till today. After talking with a guy in Fl. I learned what I was doing wrong.
It is now working too. I made a lot of head way today and am very pleased. It is now ready for a longer test drive. It will being going to Ellijay before to long.
HAPPY HAPPY HALLOWEN TO ALL
Water Leak
My home has all copper water lines. I had the mind set that these water lines was good for a hundred years. And maybe they are. But the main line coming in the house thru the basement developed a leak. Not a pin hold leak, but a much smaller leak. A small hair leak. It did not drip, but it made a very small mist. I couldn't see it because I had the 16 foot geo-canoe hanging right under where the mist was. Now all summer the mist evaporated faster than it leaked. But when the weather cooled the mist fell in the canoe. Now the canoe is like new and don't leak. Guess What? Yelp!!!! It was very slowly filling the canoe. I believe it took months to add weight to that canoe. This week it got heavy enough to pull out the nail holding the rope that held up the canoe.
One end of the canoe fell and dump a boat load of water in the basement.
AHAWWWW what happen HERE!!!!!!
Okey The only thing in this end of the house that has water is the icemaker.
After moving half the kitchen around and checking out all the icemaker hook up, no leaks. Shut off the water and started hunting the leak. There was no mist with the water turned off. Next day still couldn't find the leak. It was like a gobbin got in and filled the boat with water.
What to do. By this time I had the basement dryed out and all the wet stuff thrown
out. I put some news paper down and turn on the water. At first nothing. Then after awhile a drop of water fell on the paper. The next drop a little while later came from a floor joist. I got my flash light and found the light mist above the water pipe.
Got it. Mark the spot on the pipe and cut off the water again and made the repair.
An adventure right here in the house.
Go to the mailbox and get the mail.
Easy enough, right?
Wrong.
While at the cabin winterising the water pipes and other stuff in the kitchen, and bath, I went to the mail box. I found all new boxes and my key wouldn't work.
The Home Owners Asso. decided we had too small, too old, outdated, not surcure, and an eye sore box. So I had to find out who had the new keys, then go find them, and then wait for them to find the new keys. It took over a hour to get the mail. Got to love the HOA.
A hot meal to pop in
when she drops in.

Looks like I may be driving Henry to the Nov. GGA Meeting!
Thursday evening I drove to Birmingham, for a visitation at a funeral home.
My Aunt vi passed this week. It was a good drive, even if it was rush hour when I got over there. The drive back was very smooth sailing. I got back in just over three hours. Not bad for night driving. I got in at 10:40 pm. It takes almost that long to cross town here.
No plans for this weekend yet.
I had half-ass planned to go to Savannah Nov. 8. But it looks like the GGA has dropped
the ball again. I see Joe is going to an event in Rome that day. I am going to Ellijay for that event.
got up this morning, loaded my cooler, and camp chair and headed out to Cartersville, for a Walmart car show. A lot friends were there. Met two of my high school mates
that I hadn't seen in over fifty years. Talk about old times, we did.
Henry won a very nice wall plaque, given by Walmart. Our car club raised over five hundred dollars for the battered women of Bartow county. The weather was good, cool with a breeze, and sunny.
More from Bubba
I drop by the cow feed store, to shoot the bull with the fellows today.
While I was there Bubba came in, and as always, he had the floor for the next half hour. He said due to the lack of rain his crops burned up. So now he is raising
animals for his income.
He is excited about the campout next year, because he missed out this year.
Bubba is working hard on a game for next fall. I beleive it will be a doosee.
way to go bubba
to family members
Wralene had a quadruple bypass today, she is doing well and in ICU.
From Bubba:
I talked with Bubba today after lunch. He has got us a place for the fall campout next year. It is already reserved for the first weekend in Oct. 2009. Now Bubba is trying to come up with some geo-games to play. He said if you'all have any idea's to pass them on to me or Allen and we will let him know. He is keeping the location to himself till next summer, so just rest assured it is the best camping spot we have ever had.
Hey it has potties and tables and all the good stuff. I am already excited.
Protime = 2.5
See, some things work out right.
Today was some better than the pass 14 days or so. We still have family illness, but
all is some better. Me and the wife have Doctor appointments tomorrow, she has another Friday. Today was a break in the stress. To fool the mind and make it think there was no stress going on, I spend some time with Henry. I cleaned him up a little, and had plan to let Robert ride with us. But Robert didn't make it down, so I took him a ride around town and stop in on two different friends while riding around. It did remove some of the stress and relaxed the mind, and was fun just to get out and get some air.
I hope to go on a little Cruise-In on friday, oct.17th in Taylorsville,Ga. in honor of Bob Harris. There will be hotdogs with donations made to the Voluntary Fire Dept. that Bob help start.
Bob was a good friend, he also had a fifty ford. He and his wife went on their honeymoon in it. He passed away a few months ago.

Thanks goes to Liz for the placement our brick at the Silver Comet Trail/Tara Drummond park!!! That’s the trailhead in Dallas, GA.
It is very cool Liz!
Now this is a First!
My house is running over with food. That right, food everywhere. The cabinets, the cubert, in the fridge, on the tables, everything loaded with food. We are throwing away food.
Since the lady of the house, had her operation, she can't eat , and just has a little liquid. So I don't eat any big meals either. We have eggs that is a month old. The can goods will keep, but most of the other stuff will have to go.
Together we have lost over thirty pounds. If you know us, you know that is not a bad thing. Just the way it came about is no fun. Time for lunch. Jello.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!'
Have a wonderful day !
Last week was the date set to get the fifty ford on the road. yaaaa I made it.
The Fifty made its first trip. A trip to the muffler shop. I was a great feeling to be riding down the road in it after all the time working on it. For the past three years I was under the hood or under the car. It has all come together now.
The dudes at the muffler shop shot it for u-tube. You can have a look see here,

Bubba had long heard the stories of an amazing family tradition. It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able to walk on water on their 21st birthday. On that special day, they'd each walked across the lake to the bar on the far side for their first legal drink.
So when Bubba's 21st birthday came a round, he and his pal Jim Bob took a boat out to the middle of the lake, Bubba stepped out of the boat .... and nearly drowned! Jim Bob just barely managed to pull him to safety.
Furious and confused, Bubba went to see his grandmother.
'Grandma,' he asked, 'it's my 21st birthday, so why can't I walk 'cross the lake like my pappy, his father, and his father before him?'
Granny looked deeply into Bubba's troubled eyes and said, 'Because your fath er, your grandfather and your great grandfather were born in January, when the lake is frozen, and you were born in July, you
dumbass '.
From Bubba
The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ''Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?''
I replied: I had a drug problem when I was young:
I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.
I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.
I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best
effort in everything that was asked of me.
I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profane four-letter word.
I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cockleburs out of dad's fields.
I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.
Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.
