A lot went on since we last yacked.
Last week was a busy week getting all caught up with the shut ins. Making sure they had a weeks supplies.
of everything. Then getting the cats happy around here.
Then a untaking of getting a 3 day basket loaded with BRE's. Some of you cachers may know about
the one day BRE that goes with me on day hikes. Then a day of packing the 50 Ford with all the hi-tech
stuff. It look like I was moving. Tools, spare parts, luggage, and all.
All of a sudden it was Friday. The day started like any other day. Getting up, turn of the news and weather,
get something to eat, go on line and check the email. Feed the cats and put out their BRE's.
A little after 10am we set out to make a trip south.
Stopped at the rest area near Macon and eat out first meal out of the basket. Back on the road and
made one more stop near Tifton got gas and got two drinks, we had cold water, but got the drinks in place of having a snack.
After a 7 hour ride we were in Ocala Fl. That was our first long trip in the past 10 years. So we were tired
from setting in the car for a few hours. We checked in, then went and eat out. Called my buddies and told
where I am, found one geocache and went to bed early.
Saturday morning, we were up early since we went to bed early. About 7 we found the motel breakfast.
We had toast egg and bacon. We then rode over the silver springs. As soon as you turn in you have to
give seven dollars to park. We had been there many years ago when our son was just a boy. We had
took it all in back then, boat rides and the whole nine yards. This time, us being two old farts we were just
going to walk around and see how much it had changed over the years. Boy had it changed.
They had a gate, you have to give them 40.00 dollars a piece to get in. They called it a day pass
that will let you do anything there, including walk around. We said no thankyou and hit the road out of there
There was a big ole car show in town that we skipped due to cost and way too much walking and no
nobody could get out till it was over. So we rode around taking in the sites by car for most on the
day.
The reason we were in Ocala was our V8 ford friends were in town to meet and greet. We had just been
names on the puter. We were going meet and display our cars Sunday at 10am till when ever.
Turn out that there was 15 or so of us at the same motel. So we all got together and went to eat at
Ruby Tuedays. We had a ball telling stories and enjoying each other in general. Then back to the motel
for a good nights sleep.
Sunday morning back to the motel breakfast. We all met in the parking with our cars at 9 am, and set
out to tour Ocala on our way to the park. I thought it would be sorta like a parade so people could see
the old cars going by. But the leader cranked it up to about 50mph in the 35 zones. Then when we
got on the wider streets with 45 limits we were high balling at 55 to 60mph. Here they come-there
they went. It was wild. We were at the park early.
We took lots of pictures, met a lot folks from all over the country. Sorry I don't remember many of
their names, but I do rember most of the cars LOL

After hot dogs and a lot of talking we left and drove north on the back roads.
We join I-75 at Perry Ga where we stayed Sunday night..
Monday after sleeping late we headed home to be welcomed by the cats.
