Prioritization!
Is it possible to have a good prioritization? I don't think so. I am trying to get the right priorities in line for
my hobbies. My dictionary says the a hobby is an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation
and not as a main occupation:
My oldest and longest lasting hobby is making cars look good. But I did it as an occupation for 40 years. I guess
I have to say it started as a hobby, and ended as a hobby, but was an occupation in between. I am very
good at getting a car to look outstanding. I know what it takes, and was paid well for doing it.
I have had a lot of other hobbies, but never was good at any of them. You see, I believe you have to do
something for twenty years before you are on top of the heap. That goes for most hobbies, like golf, fishing,or
hunting. I always jump the fence to get in another pasture before I could get good at it. Not to a greener
pasture, but there would be something that would catch my eye and over I would go. I would go whole hog,
when I started out, but then I would just get bored out of my skull, and start something else
Racing was one of my favorite hobbies. It was a hobby because I sure didn't make any money at it.
But it was a lot of fun. I was in it for just over ten years. I got pretty good as a driver, but the cost
got so I could not keep up with the expense. I hung around for a while helping my buddy with his car.
Some other hobbies includes camping, hiking, road trips, swimming, skiing, collecting coins, horses,
collecting guns, running, bicycling, Old cars, geocaching, ham and CB radio, cooking sweets, and maybe
a few more I have forgot.
Like I said I never got good at any of them. I still am into old cars, because I can make them look good.
I am still into geocaching because I enjoy the friends I have make while being in the hobby. When I
started it was a hobby that you could do alone. No competition, just go out and find a box. So much
for the no competition part. People love competition. I stay away from competing, but I do like the fellowship
that we have with one another. This does not eat you up like racing and some of the others hobbies.
I am keeping caching.
In addition to old cars, and geocaching, I will be keeping road trips, it works with both cars and caching.
I will also get to hike and camp with caching.
With my old car getting near to being ready to roll, I am renewing my membership in the old car club.
I will be able to join in some of their road trips and outings. They have ask me to help with judging
in the show car this June and I going to do that to get back in the swing of what is happening in
the old cars now days.
It looks like this
1. geocaching, hiking, camping.
2. Old car, road trips.
3. Bicycling
I going to try to have a good mix of all three.Labels: on the road again
