Movie Review "To Please A Lady"
Don't sound like a racing movie does it. Well it is. A 1950 black and white racing movie starring Clark Cable and Barbara Stanwyck. Some of the racing sequences were shot at the actual Indy 500. The acting has room for improvement by today standards. The story line was a little lame too. Boy, Girl, and race cars. The reason I watched it was that there were some shots of Joie Chitwoods stunt driving team that was shot at a Texas fair ground in 1950 while they were using 1950 Fords for the stunts. This part of the movie was just a few minutes, but I enjoy it. I went to see Joey Chitwood every year at the South Eastern Fair Ground until after I got married. The first time was with my parents around the age of 13.
To Please a Lady brought back some racing dreams for me. But it was not a great movie.
