The Fifty Ford had a work out for the last few days. Not no more than usual but a lot bigger showing.
The biggie was the engine being installed. Hooray! I had planned for that day for weeks.
It has a lot of polished chrome and shiny parts on it. I removed all the top parts, like the alternator, AC pump, and carburetor.
I then removed the spark plugs and all wires. With that done I attached 4 chains that I had wrapped with towels and
masking tape to each of the corners to the exhaust ports bolts. Then I lay a bed pillar on top of the motor and loosely
hooked the chains together on top. Then I stuffed blankets and pillars under the chains. Next I wrapped the fenders and firewall
up with bed covers. I hoisted the motor and ease it down in its place very slowly. It looked like I was putting a big old stuffed
Bunny rabbit to bed. Luck was with me, not a single scratch. When it was almost down I uncovered the motor mounts and it set right
in place and the bolts went right in.

Unwrapped and reinstalled all the parts that I had removed. Then came time to put the headers on. The passenger side
header fit like a glove. but the drivers side was not to be. I tried to put it in place from the top. No luck. I tried to come up from the bottom and still it would not go in to place. Then I removed the steering gear and jack the engine up, but it would not fit. After a few naughty words and using a tape measure I found it was the wrong one. It was for a 1948 ford. I shipped it back last Friday.

Then I installed the new C4 Automatic Transmission. All went well till I put the cross member back in. The transmission mount
would not fit the old cross member. I ordered a new fit'um all cross member and a ford C4 mount today.

Next will be to install some new lines, plumbing if you will. Transmission cooler lines, gas lines, Oil filter hose, brake lines,
heater hose, you get the idea.

.more later
