Tear down
Henry had a big day
Today was a big day working on Henry. I rebuild the front end. As with a lot of other work, there is not a showing. I had to get out the old school tools. A big hammer.
After a few hours of tear down, I install the new Royal King Pin Kit. It went pretty smooth. Works like a charm.
This is for the e-team. Stuff happens here too.
A minor thing I hit my thumb with the big hammer.
But that was not the biggy. When it was done and time to grease everthing I remembered I don't know where my grease gun is. Lost, loaned, given away, anyway I don't have one now. I run to Auto Zone and got one and some grease. Put it together with grease in it and got up under the car and WOW no grease would come out.
OK open it up and see no problem. Still wouldn't work. Half a tube of grease and a hour later, I won't rust anytime soon, I found the tip was stopped up. It has one of them clamp over the fitting type thingys that has a spring in it. After greasing me and the basement I got the front end of the car finished.
Update:
I have the wheels put on the back burner.
That will be worked out later. For now I will work on getting the front disk brake kit, and install them. That is why I went ahead with the other front stuff.
I went to the old car club meeting tuesday night and was supprized that some of the members already knew I was rebuilding the Ford. After a ten year leave. It was fun to see all the old friends and see how many new people were there since I have been there.
