the end

Sunday, April 02, 2006

It is after 6PM Sunday evening so I'm calling it a weekend.
Here is a list of some of what I got done, not in order

1. Went to the store and got the fixens for the stew to carry to Wanna Go.
2. Picked up the steaks for the Wanna Go Campout supper.
3. Removed the gas tank from the 50. It had 12 gallons on ten year old fuel in it. There was a lot of trash in it, plus some sluge in it. I got some degresser from Home Depot, and put it in the tank with one part hot water, then put a twenty foot small chain in it and rolled it around on saw horses every ten minutes for about three hours.
Then I hauled it to the quarter car wash that cost two dollars for 5 minutes and wash it out with two rounds of hot soap wash. Then a round of rinse. When I got back I put a half gallon of alcohol and rolled it around and over and over to dry the water. When I poured that out, I then used a heat gun to dry it out. It shines like new silver dollar inside now. I closed it up and sealed it shut and sanded it and painted it.
Now a new 57 year old tank.
4. I painted all the parts to my new rear end. I can't install it till the spring pads come and I weld them in place.
5. My new High-performance Halogen Highlights from Germany came while I was working
on the gas tank. I install them while I waited for paint to dry between coats.
Man they are bright.
6. I took down the garage door to the basement. To do that I took the 50 out just in case of a boo boo. That is what lead up the the gas tank removal. I wanted to do that outside too. I put up the new door and got it all lined up. I got a welcome phone call that let me take a well needed brake while I was adjusting the springs.
7. I put some more of my tools in their place as I found the ones I needed.
8. Trip to Home Depot for paint.
9. Moved stuff around in the basement.
10. Cooked lunch and cleaned the dishes Saturday.
11. Put up bird house to get it out of my way.
12. Found a new set of Spoke Hubcaps while looking thru stuff I was moving around.
I got them for a pickup I builded in the eighties, but used Rally Wheels, and forgot about the hubcaps.

Things that is yet to be done due to this weekend.
1. paint garage door
2. paper work and book keeping for 50.
3. log same paper work in the computer
4. Move more stuff around in basement till I get a dumpster, and ebay the hell out of some of it.

Going caching tomorrow.

Comments:
Holy Moley!!!!

That sure sounds like my week-end, except without the accidents! I hope it stops raining early enough for you to go caching.
